Shisha, also known as a water pipe, is often used to smoke shisha tobacco with fruit flavours in a wide variety of flavours. By pulling on the hose, the smoke is drawn through a shisha glass (bowl) filled with water. This cools and filters the smoke. The origin of the shisha is thought to be in India, where the pragmatic, introductory water pipe was made from a coconut and a bamboo stick. The new-fashioned design emerged in the 16th century and a large community culture developed around the shisha, which still exists throughout Europe today.
